The Desire Greece Turkey Cruise Itinerary

Day 1 – Athens / Greece

THE CITY WITH THE PURPLE CROWN

Climb the magnificent Acropolis with your partner and admire the Parthenon, the beautiful temples and the view of Athens that spreads out before you; see the highlights of the city, including the new and old Olympic stadiums; head to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon that overlooks the sea, or visit ancient Corinth and the narrow Corinth Canal that winds through miles of rock.

Day 2 – Bozcaada / Turkey

HOME OF THE LEGENDARY TROJAN WAR

Bozcaada is a breezy jewel in the Aegean Sea, an island with a magnificent beach that is also known for producing some of the best wines in Turkey. The ambience of Greek and Turkish sensibilities is gracefully combined, evident in the whitewashed houses from which the occasional minaret juts out.

Browse for tempting souvenirs made by local artisans and buy a jar of the island’s delicious tomato jam. Next to the cozy harbor, discover the imposing 15th century castle, one of the best preserved in the country. From the crenellated walls you can look out over the crystal clear sea and imagine Achilles arriving at this place during the legendary Trojan War.

Day 3 & 4 – Istanbul / Turkey

THE CITY ON SEVEN HILLS

Indulge your eyes and senses in this magnificent city located on two continents. Visit the beautiful Topkapi Palace, the fascinating Hagia Sophia and the impressive Blue Mosque; cruise the Bosphorus to see the city and its surroundings from a different perspective; visit one of the many museums or stroll through the Spice Market and the famous Grand Bazaar.

Please note that September 24 is a half sea day with a party on board. See you aboard for seductive fun on the way to our next fabulous destination.

Day 5 – Kusadasi (Ephesus) / Turkey

THE BIRD ISLAND

Stroll through the ruins of ancient Ephesus and marvel at the famous Library of Celsus, the huge amphitheater, the marble streets with chariot imprints, the amazing mosaic walkways and the magnificent terrace houses that are rarely open.

Drive to three monumental cities of antiquity: Priene, Miletus and Didyma, known for their majestic temples and impressive, well-preserved stadiums.

Day 6 – Mykonos / Greece

THE ISLAND OF THE WINDS

Stroll through the narrow, winding streets of this charming coastal village with its whitewashed houses, flowers, and brightly painted shutters and doors; stand among the windmills on the hill. Visit the archaeological museum and an old bakery, which still has a wood-burning oven from the 15th century.

Mykonos is a vibrant and cosmopolitan island known for its legendary parties. Besides its idyllic landscape, it is also known as the “Ibiza of Greece”. The white houses with blue shutters, the bright bougainvillea and the stunning blue harbor basking in the sensual sunlight are world famous.

Day 7 – Santorini / Greece

THE VINEYARDS

Visit the beautiful whitewashed hilltop towns of Oia and Fira, with their breathtaking views of the caldera; see the impressive artifacts at Fira’s museum, including recent finds from the excavations of Akrotiri, thought by many to be the legendary city of Atlantis.

Visit a winery; stroll the winding streets with fantastic views around every corner.

Day 8 – Athens / Greece

THE CITY OF THE PURPLE CROWN

For an archaeological walk, head to Vasilissis Amalias Street, which winds through the heart of the ancient city. The route leads to sights such as the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the ancient Agora, Hadrian’s Arch and, of course, the Acropolis.

Afterwards you can enjoy traditional Greek delicacies at the central market. Plus, there are fantastic tavernas in neighborhoods like Pangrati, Exarhia and Petralona!
